Nearly 97,000 US military veterens and their family members have been laid to rest at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, which is located high atop the peninsula leading to Point Loma, CA and features beautiful views of both San Diego Harbor and the Pacific Ocean.

Cabrillo National Monument, Point Loma, CA is located at the end of a peninsula that is a high point southwest of downtown San Diego, CA. It is believed that in 1542, Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, the first European to explore the west coast of the United States, anchored his boat, the San Salvador, near this point.
