Lake Tahoe, CA is located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and lies within the borders of both California and Nevada at an elevation of 6200 ft. California borders the lake on the western side, and from north to south, and the cities include Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay, Tahoe City, Homewood, Meyers, Emerald Bay, Camp Richardson and South Lake Tahoe.
