Located along the banks of the Kern River and just north of Lake Isabella, Kernville, CA (formerly Rogersville and Whiskey Flat) provides a great weekend getaway from southern California cities for water sports enthusiasts. It is also a gateway to the Sequoia National Forest and features views of the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Lake Isabella, CA

 

Lake Isabella is a cool, blue oasis in the middle of the desert.  A man-made lake on the south fork of the Kern River, it is located at the end of a 45 minute scenic drive along highway 178.
