Amboy, CA is located along National Trails Highway, Route 66, in the Mojave Desert. At one time it was a stop for cross-country travelers; today it is a ghost town.
Driving south from Amboy, I encountered this mysterious desert landscape.

What memories! My late wife, Rosario,and I drove to California vis Rte 66 - I believe we stayed in this hotel.
